About Us
Applied Thermoplastic Resources, LLC (ATR) began at the Georgia Institute of Technology as a research project in May of 1995. In January of 1997 the company focused on the large supply of nylon post-industrial fiber waste from North Georgia's largest industry, Carpet Manufacturing. Using this supply of post-industrial fiber, ATR has been able to develop a standard product line that scopes from basic unfilled mixed color resins for compounding feedstock to highly engineered heat stabilized, impact modified grades fit for compounding or molding.
The consistency and quality of ATR’s raw materials enables the production of resins that meet prime specifications. The ISO 9000:2001 classification ensures that these certified products meet the guaranteed specifications through a full range of testing performed at ATR’s in-house Laboratory. Strong supplier relations with the Carpet Industry have allowed ATR to arrive where it is today. Producing 75 million pounds each year and distributing another 15 million pounds annually makes ATR the largest post-industrial Nylon Manufacturer in the world.
