Trade Show Wrap Up

ATR closed out a successful 2 weeklong trip to China with a booth at Chinaplas 2008. For the better part of April, an ATR delegation spent time traveling and examining new markets for ATR in 2008 and beyond. The trip proved to be worthwhile as ATR has seen an immediate need for our material as an alternative to high priced prime grades or low quality reprocessed junk.

Much has been written about China as a new and emerging market place, but ATR is only now starting to gain it’s own market share. In speaking with compounders and distributors during the show, it became clear that there is a major demand for a high quality, certified, and dependable reprocessed resin as an alternative. ATR’s niche, a full range of Nylon 6 and 66 high quality resins, fits perfectly to meet this demand.

Our booth, staffed with 9 of our agents in China, opened up many eyes to this new option which resonated well with many new customers in China and the rest of the world. The result is an increased percentage of our business moving to China. Over the next 12 months, we project 25%-30% of our business to be based outside of the USA with the lion’s share taking root in China.

All in all, this year's trip to China was another giant step forward for ATR. This new avenue for our resin will surely prove the trip to be worthwhile over the course of the next few years.

Trade Show Updates

Look below for updates regarding two trade shows in which ATR will be an exhibitor:

Chinaplas: ATR will be making a return trip to Shanghai in April to exhibit at Chinaplas for the second year in a row. The booth will be located in Hall W4 and will be Booth Number D39. This years booth size has been upgraded to an 8 meter by 3 meter (26.25 ft by 9.8 ft) space. This move up is indicative of ATR's commitment to growth in the Chinese Market. As highlighted in past entries, ATR is focused on expanding our customer base both globally and domestically in 2008.

NPE 2009: It's never to early to get started and clearly the NPE Show takes that adage to heart. On February 19th, ATR was present at the NPE Space Draw where Booth 139,035 in the West Hall was pegged for ATR. Keep checking in for updates on NPE as they become available between now and next summer.

Exciting New Opportunities In 2008

With 2007 in the books, Applied Thermoplastic Resources (ATR) has waved good-bye to yet another solid year of growth and profitability. To achieve this growth, ATR looked internally in 2007. The addition of a few key pieces sparked new energy and the renewed vigor that paid major dividends. An overhaul of our production facilities and equipment resulted in higher production and lower overhead. This edge is one of the many factors which have enabled ATR to be leader in the ever-tightening Nylon market.

There is no time to rest though as 2008 is already upon us. In addition to our renewed focus and philosophy internally, we are looking on exploring new sales avenues in the New Year.

ATR is in the final stages of solidifying a new Post Consumer Nylon 66 feed stream which we believe will to be the future for low cost, “economy” grade applications. This new material should be available in truckload quantities in Early February. Check back with the website later in the month for Lab Sheets and Technical Data on this new feedstock.

We are also excited about the opportunities to diversify our customer base this year through global expansion. After a successful trip to Chinaplas in 2007, we are experiencing a boom in global interest. We see 2008 as an exciting year for growth on a worldwide scale.

ATR Launches New Website

On September 20, 2007 Applied Thermoplastic Resources, LLC (ATR) took another step forward by launching a brand new website. ATR has worked diligently over several months to develop a new look that embraces our professionalism and commitment to being the best in the business. As the largest Nylon reprocessor in the world, we now feel that we have an appropriate means to share what we do with the rest of the industry.

New to this edition of the website will be features that are updated regularly so our customers and suppliers can stay in touch with ATR’s nylon product coverage. The “Recent News” section will be a place where you can find out what’s new at ATR, and might include information on developmental products, upcoming trade show participation, or recent press releases. The “Alternative Materials Section” will serve as our marketplace, where we will post new products available for sale. Be sure to check here for our “Offer of the Week” where we will post items to be moved immediately and priced accordingly. Finally, we will provide detailed product data for all of our standard nylon products, as well as company information, associate contacts, and driving directions to our plant.
